A More Intentional Approach to Science Education
Small group science courses and personalized academic support for middle school through college students.
Designed to build deep understanding, academic confidence, and long-term success.
This is not a traditional classroom, and it is not typical tutoring.
Students learn best when they are challenged, supported, and taught how to think.
Each program is intentionally designed to meet students as individual learners, with a focus on critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and long-term academic growth.
Through small group instruction and personalized guidance, students gain confidence while developing the skills needed to succeed in advanced coursework.
Programs
Flexible options designed to support students at different stages, whether they need structured coursework, ongoing mentorship, or targeted academic support.
Structured, small group courses that provide a strong academic foundation in science.
Each course emphasizes depth of understanding, problem solving, and real world application. Students engage with material through discussion, guided practice, and hands-on learning rather than memorization alone.
Course offerings include:
Middle School Science
High School Biology
High School Environmental Science
High School Chemistry
High School Advanced Research and Experimental Design
Small class sizes ensure meaningful discussion, individualized feedback, and consistent academic support.
Ongoing, personalized support for students who benefit from structure, accountability, and skill development beyond a single course.
This program focuses on building effective study habits, improving academic confidence, and developing long-term learning strategies that carry across subjects.
Best suited for students who need consistent guidance throughout a semester or full academic year.
Focused, short-term support for specific academic needs.
This may include help with challenging topics, preparation for assessments, or reinforcement of key concepts. Sessions are designed to be flexible while still providing clear, effective academic support.
A More Effective Way to Learn Science
Students are capable of far more than what traditional classrooms often allow.
Large class sizes, rigid pacing, and an emphasis on memorization can leave students either overwhelmed or under challenged.
This approach is different.
Students are taught how to think, not just what to remember. They are given space to ask questions, engage deeply with the material, and develop skills that extend far beyond a single course.
Background and Experience
Instruction is led by a science educator with experience teaching at both the high school and college levels. This includes teaching and supporting students in college courses across multiple North Carolina community colleges, as well as working with high school students in both classroom and small group settings.
With a background in biology and scientific research, instruction is grounded in real academic experience and a clear understanding of what students need to succeed as they move into more advanced coursework.
Students are not only learning science content. They are learning how to think through complex material, manage expectations, and build the skills required for college level work.
Who This Is For
These programs are a strong fit for students who:
Want a more personalized and focused learning environment
Need support beyond what traditional classrooms provide
Are preparing for advanced or college level coursework
They are especially well suited for students who value depth of understanding, benefit from individualized support, and are ready to grow in both skill and confidence.
